Meeting new golfers
Safety tips
Nearly every round you set up through Threeball Society will be exactly what it says: a few holes and a pint. But you're meeting someone new, so a bit of common sense goes a long way.
Before you play
- Chat in the app first. Keep things in Threeball Society until you're comfortable. Don't rush to swap numbers or social media.
- Look at their profile. Do the photo, area and handicap add up? If something feels off, it's fine to say no.
- Never send money. Nobody on Threeball Society should ask for bank details, a loan or payment up front. Report anyone who does.
On the day
- Meet at the course. Meet in the car park, pro shop or clubhouse, never at someone's home.
- Tell a mate. Let someone know where you're playing, who with and when you expect to finish.
- Get yourself there. Drive yourself or take your own transport, so you can leave whenever you want.
- Keep your phone charged. Keep your phone charged and on you.
- Know your limits at the 19th. Enjoy a pint, but stay in control, and don't leave your drink unattended.
Trust your gut
If something doesn't feel right, before or during the round, you can walk away. You don't owe anyone a full 18.
Reporting and blocking
You can report or block anyone from their profile or your chat with them. Blocking means neither of you can see the other in the app any more. Reports go straight to the Threeball Society team, and the other person won't know who reported them.
If you're in danger, call 999. To report something that has already happened, call the police on 101. You can also report it to us at hello@golfclobber.com so we can act on the account.
